Professional Feedback:

An aura of peace and tranquility about her

I have been a veterinarian in companion animal practice for 37 years now with an interest in behavioral medicine. I have to agree that when Karren O’Sullivan first approached me with the idea of Reiki, I was a bit skeptical. Watching the numerous news stories and doing some research about it, convinced me to open my old mind to new thoughts. Although I know conventional medicine has it’s place, I strongly believe in the healing that takes place though relaxation and meditation techniques. I have been through 2 euthanasia procedures with Karren’s pets, and I have to say it was truly beautiful how peaceful her animals were during the transitioning. Even in the exam room, there is an aura of peace and tranquility about her that will include me and my technicians, and they can feel it. I have attended and taken part in a “chair” Reiki session as well as an afternoon beginning Reiki session. I really feel that all veterinarians, staff and the animals in your practice will benefit.

Professional Feedback:

such a big step forward

Hi Karren, I just wanted you to know that you made some believers out of nonbelievers yesterday. The black puppy in the clinic that you spent time with really came out of her shell after you left. By the afternoon she was walking into surgery to see what we were doing and even barking and playing with toys. We have had her with us since Monday morning and she has done nothing but sit in a scared little ball until you did a Reiki session with her. Maria and the vet student were very impressed!

She is still a little shy but since she has taken such a big step forward we think we can keep working with her and get her social enough to be adopted.”

Thank you!

Private Session Praise:

HEALING FOR THE BOTH OF US

My journey to Karren for Reiki for my dog came from sheer desperation. I practice meditation and have taken Karren’s level 1 reiki workshop for animals. I felt I could use my energy and skills  to help my dogs on my own. Not so, I found out. My precious Crockett developed seizures 4 years ago. His medical condition and medications enhanced his already astute sensitivity to noises. Over the past few months Crockett became so sensitive to sudden noises he began avoiding the very activities he loved including walks.

At the beginning of our first reiki session Crockett checked in with me frequently but then settled down and slept. To my surprise and amazement, on the ride home Crockett slept as loud motorcycles and trucks rattled past on the highway. At home he ate his medication mixture without the usual stalling. The following week he remained more resilient and happy. Running around the house like a puppy wanting to play. He looked so happy making my heart sing.

At the beginning of our second reiki session Crockett immediately curled up next to Karren and slept. After the session we went to a dog related class. The event building is next to railroad tracks. During the class a long train roared by so close the building shook. Crockett woke up looked inquisitive and remained calmly on his mat! Amazing!  At the beginning of the following sessions Crockett enthusiastically greeted Karren and proceeded to curl up by her side soaking up the healing.

Several weeks have gone by since our last reiki session.  Crockett continues to be more playful and resilient. In addition, he has started to enjoy our walks again. An added benefit is I have been the recipient of Karren’s healing energy by being present during her work with Crockett. I look forward to experiencing more healing for both of us.

TAKING A DEEP BREATH

I was so pleased with my horse Twister’s response to our reiki session. He normally has so much nervous energy and it was wonderful to see him take a deep breath and relax while Karren was working with him. It was lovely to see Twister finding peace with the practice of reiki! Thank you so much!

Private Session Praise:

peaceful and healing presence in my home helped us all

It feels a little daunting to write about Karren’s Reiki treatment for my Irish Wolfhound Ballie. I know so very little about Reiki. I knew that Karren did therapeutic and restorative work with dogs and when Ballie returned from being boarded in obvious pain, I called her.

My ignorance was obvious when I started describing Ballie’s symptoms and offering my thoughts as to where her pain was originating. Karren graciously began explaining to me the principle of Reiki. She was kind enough to lead me through a short meditation and then to do a short session with me so I could begin to understand.

Karren came into our home during a week of some hard emotional trials and established a corner of peace and warmth felt by not only myself and Ballie but also my two cats, Yin and Yang.

After the first session Ballie had no symptoms of pain. She is doing great. It’s always hard to pinpoint healing and recovery, I believe that the Reiki treatments helped and I also know that Karren’s peaceful and healing presence in my home helped us all.”
